In ASD Lighting’s latest investment we dedicated a large area of factory floor to bring the powder coating process in-house, reducing delays, costs, materials, handling, and even carbon footprint thanks to an innovative waste recycling process that most powder coating factories discard.
The whole system consists of 93.5 metres of conveyor track travelling at a metre per minute. Our products are attached to secure hangers ready to pass through our one stage pretreatment process.
This 90 second environmentally friendly process degreases, cleans, polymerises, and prepares all metals for painting in a single step with no waste, heat or water required.
The pre-treatment process offers a faster, easier, greener and more effective alternative to labour intensive conventional phosphating.
Once dried in the oven we apply the powder within the spraying booth. 98% of the excess powder is recovered through a mono-cyclone system for respraying. Then the bodies are finally heated in a second oven at 200C for curing.
